Descripción: Today?s societal problems require flexible scientists who can translate perceived societal problems into relevant social scientific research questions. Solving these problems requires a perspective based on insights from fundamental social theory joined with substantive theories developed by various social science disciplines. It also demands thorough and state-of-the-art methodological understanding and skills. The research master's in Social Sciences offers training in a trans-disciplinary research approach in which boundaries between quantitative and qualitative methodology are actively bridged. It trains students to conduct research in an area where empirical-analytical and interpretive, quantitative and qualitative, actor-centered and structure-oriented perspectives flourish.
