Descripción: Globalisation, de-industrialisation, the rise of informational technology and migration have changed metropolitan life and the urban fabric. Cities have become metropolitan areas; internally divided social worlds, but at the same time important socio-economic nodes in world encompassing networks of cities and flows, raising new governance problems and challenges. The research master's programme in Metropolitan Studies will deal with this complex reality from different points of view: a spatial planning and institutional point of view; a social and geographical point of view; and an economic geographical point of view. The programme is meant for motivated, outstanding students who are interested in a career as an academic or applied researcher in the field of urban studies.
